Welcome to our “New Years Eve – New Adventures” fundraiser to support the Namaspa Foundation. The Namaspa Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation focused on bringing yoga and mindfulness practices to those in our society who can benefit from them most, yet who may currently have the least access.
Namaspa has been a leader in the Central Oregon yoga community since 2007, and our Foundation was created in 2018 with a commitment to bringing yoga classes to local jails, homeless shelters, rehab facilities and schools. Even during the pandemic while many of our outreach classes have been on hold, we taught outdoor and Zoom classes for local homeless shelters and recovery centers, and led classes online for children, people in grief and front-line healthcare workers. We have also funded financial aid and racial diversity scholarships to people training to become yoga teachers, ultimately creating new jobs and helping to address some of the underlying issues of disempowerment in our society: stress, fear, anxiety, trauma, self-doubt and depression. Join us in empowering these individuals to gain life skills and realize their full potential.
With your help we can really make a difference! In fact, after implementing yoga classes in the Deschutes County Sheriff’s County Jail, the staff saw a 60% reduction in mental health related episodes from the inmates--saving $20,000! Michael Haro, an inmate said, "It brings my mind and body together to make it one. I feel so good after. I know how to breathe and cope with the anger and everything I have inside of me."
Last year we raised over $4,299 in our NYE Silent Auction - your shopping here is a big win-win-win: you get great deals on local items and services, a local business gets exposure and you as a new client and the Namaspa Foundation receives the payments to continue our work in Central Oregon in 2023.
Thank you again for joining us and happy shopping!
Thank you for your support!
