Description

The Clarks Fork Wild and Scenic River includes 20+ miles of a rugged section of the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River that flows through a deep, canyon approximately 30 miles north-northwest of Cody. The river is renowned for its tumultuous waterfalls, whitewater cascades, deep pools, and rugged landscape. Geologically speaking, this is the intersection of the Laramide age (70-55 million years), Cody Arch and Beartooth Uplift, and the Eocene Absaroka Volcanic Province (53-43 million years). Historically speaking, the canyon provided an escape route for Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce Indians in 1877 as they eluded the United States Calvary It provides one of the most spectacular views in Wyoming. Kathy is known for her superb technical craft and ability to push her camera to its maximum potential. Kathy is developed Light in the Valley, a conservation photography company based in the Beartooth Mountains. Kathy exhibits and sells her work through Open Range Images Gallery in Cody. In addition to her photography, Kathy leads a variety of outdoor photography workshops in many parts of the state of Wyoming. The photograph is framed in a white etched mat and handmade wooden frame. Image size 10 x 25 inches, frame size 17 x 33 inches.
