Via the artist: "This piece combines some interesting elements which I find appealing. The background is off-white encaustic wax, layered with eco printed vellum, horsehair, and swarovski crystals. I like the clear wax layers that provide a muted look."

With nature as her muse, Marj creates each piece of artwork with natural materials found on her excursions. Marj's artwork can be found in the art gallery at Artfully Framed.

Eco-printing is a technique where plants, leaves and flowers are steamed or boiled to extract their natural dye. Marj then arranges the plants onto fabric or paper to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art.
