Anniek Verholt is an artist from the Netherlands and based in London and Brighton. She Anniek Verholt is an artist from the Netherlands and based in London and Brighton. She completed a BA in Art Therapy from the University of Applied Sciences in Leiden in '96 -'00 and immersed herself in an in-depth study into the therapeutic use and effect of the creative process. Her interest in colour and light led her to working with glass. She holds an M.A. Glass from the University of Sunderland (2004) where she specialised in kiln-formed and sand-cast glass techniques. Her abstract paintings (mostly in oil) show her curiosity of the complex journey of our mind. The paintings are rich in layers, texture and movement. The frequent use of impasto give her paintings a sculptural feel. In 2017 Anniek opened the doors to her new studio in Brighton where she's been developing her latest artworks and creative projects.
