Description
Collage, acrylics and cold wax on panel with wood float frame.
This series is called Pattern Guide. My mother was a seamstress and I have always
been attracted to sewing patterns although I do not sew. I layer the fragile, translucent tan
papers with printed instructions and symbols which I tone with acrylic paints and seal.
The final layers are oil and cold wax. I sgraffito through these layers to expose the
under painting. The titles are taken from the printed words.
