Tim Carroll purchased several Oriental rugs while visiting Central Asia countries in the 1990's, this being one of those rugs. These countries are famous for their woven textiles, especially carpets which are either used on the floor or hung on the walls of their homes. Tim's impression is that he bought this rug by the Caspian Sea area which had weaving quality he admired most. He chose this one for the auction because of the bright colors, an unusual palate for that area of the world. The rug is 64" long x 40" wide without the fringe and in excellent condition.
