Red dragons are born from the sun, comes from the south and blows fire. Similar to button in the book “Satsuma Buttons and Buckles” by Nishida and Allen p.229. Satsuma are ceramics hand painted by Japanese artists for export. Late 19th c. - early 20th c. Back mark: export mark. NBS Medium ( 1 3/16”)
